Signing: Swiss-Chinese Law Association, Geneva Dispute Resolution Center, and Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On June 24, 2021, the Swiss-Chinese Law Association, Geneva International Dispute Resolution Institute and Shenzhen Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote cooperation in commercial mediation, mutual recognition of mediators, joint mediation, and the selection and training of mediators.

Mr. Gao Shu, Chairman of Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center, expressed his hope through extensive cooperation with the Swiss-Chinese Law Association and Geneva Dispute Settlement Center. He would help Shenzhen Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center become a commercial mediation center with considerable influence in the world. Zhang Tianze of SCLA introduced the development of SCLA, which is becoming a global community, a global vision, and a global voice for Central European and even Eurasian lawmakers. SCLA has applied for observer membership in UNCTAD and observer membership in Working Groups I and III of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. 

Hermann Knott, the member of the Board of Directors of the Geneva International Dispute Resolution Institute, said that today is a new beginning for the Mediation Center, which will further promote the in-depth cooperation between the Geneva International Dispute Resolution Intitute and the Shenzhen Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center, and will promote the mutual recognition mechanism of mediators, etc. in the future to continue innovation in global commercial mediation. The participants spoke, congratulated the signing of the cooperation memorandum, and looked forward to the importance of international cooperation in mediation.

According to the memorandum of cooperation signed by both parties, the Swiss-Chinese Law Association, the Geneva Dispute Resolution Center, and the Shenzhen Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center will establish a regular exchange mechanism to promote cooperation in commercial mediation, mutual recognition of mediators, joint mediation and training of mediators through co-organizing conferences, seminars, and forums, to promote the development of cross-border mediation.

The Swiss Chinese Law Association (SCLA), founded in 2019 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, is an international bar association.
